Mr Alex Martin
CEO,
Clearspeed
Alex Martin graduated with distinction from the United States Naval Academy and served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Platoon Commander in Infantry, Reconnaissance and Special Operations units. During his military service, Alex led four operational deployments, including three combat tours in Iraq and a fourth in counter-piracy operations offshore Africa. He currently serves a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves working for the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab's Experiments Division. Following his active duty service, Alex founded a private maritime security company, which was later acquired by a US-based logistics and security company. He then moved to Africa and worked for Nuru International - a social enterprise dedicated to eradicate extreme poverty in the world’s most unstable, vulnerable regions to help end violent extremism. After two years, the expat team he led successfully exited and turned over all operations to incredible local leadership teams to expand their own enterprise sustainably. He is now CEO and Co-Founder of Clearspeed, a California based, venture backed voice technology company focused on security and fraud risk identification at scale. Alex holds an MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, is a graduate of Stanford Business School's IGNITE Program in Entrepreneurship, and the Marine Corps and Navy War Colleges. He currently lives in San Diego, California, where he was raised.
