Steve graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and completed SEAL training in 1988. He served with a diversity of Naval Special Warfare units and commanded Special Operations Task Forces several times while deployed to all of the geographic areas of operations.

He also held key staff assignments in the Unites States, as well as in the U.S. Southern Command and U.S. European Command areas of operation.

Steve studied Spanish at the Defense Language Institute, and received a Master of Science degree in National Resources Strategy from the National Defense
University. Upon retirement from the Navy in 2014, Steve relocated to New York City where he led the Global Security Team for JPMorgan Chase until 2019. Steve now leads the Government, Defense, and Security team for San Diego-based technology firm Clearspeed, and volunteers as an English as a Second Language instructor for San Diego Refugee Tutoring.
