Head of Centre Against Terrorism and Hybrid Threats, Czech Republic Ministry of the Interior

Benedikt Vangeli is the head of Center Against Hybrid threats, a unit within the Ministry of Interior in Czech Republic

Benedikt Vangeli is an internal security expert and lawyer.

In the first phase of his professional life, he specialized in security (esp. police) legal issues and security policy in general. 

He is an author of the law on Police of Czech Republic, co-authored several other laws in the security field (e.g. law on the General Inspectorate of Security forces, so called anti-corruption package or worked on the law on victims of crimes). 

Then he assumed the position of head of State threats and crisis management unit at the Ministry of Interior where he dealt with security policy in the area of terrorism, radicalization, soft targets protection, crisis management in the internal security area etc.)

Currently he is working as the head of Center Against Hybrid threats, a unit within the Security Policy Department at the Ministry of Interior. 

The unit concentrates on hybrid threats related to internal security. That includes information manipulation in the internal security, influence operations in the internal security area, security aspects of migration, international cooperation in the area of hybrid threats, resilience of the public sector against influence operations, resilience of universities and other institutions etc.

Benedikt Vangeli is author of the Commentary on the law on the Police of Czech Republic and contributed or co-authored several other publications in the security field.
